How the church works
For Sawston Free Church, we find out where God is leading us by prayerful and faithful listening for the voice of God in and through each other. Our church meeting is our primary place of doing that listening, so we tend not to “vote” on where we are going, but try to understand in our sharing of perceptions, where it is that God wants our energies to be focussed.
We have elected elders who are the spiritual leaders and pastoral carers, set aside for this task, to take council together and bring recommendations to the church meeting, and be the advisors and confidants for the minister.
Most of what happens at Sawston Free Church happens because the people who make up this community of faith have agreed together and work together for these common goals that we believe God is calling us to pursue. We are trying to follow the way of Jesus.
Our community worships in two places: here at Sawston Free Church and at Castle Camps URC
