Visiting us
If you are coming to see us for the first time, you might like to know a little bit about us. Sawston Free Church is both a United Reformed and Methodist Church. The church has been in the village since 1811 when a plot of land was built on by local non-conformists and worship was held in the meeting hall.
Many decades ago the Methodist Church in Sawston closed and they joined together with the congregation worshipping in this place, to form the Sawston Free Church. Our worship is informal and open to all. We have facilities for people with mobility disabilities, a sound loop installed for those using hearing aids and large print service sheets for people with low vision. Our communion is open to all who wish to follow the way of Jesus Christ. We are committed to working with Christians of other traditions and having an open heart and mind to those of other faiths.
We use a large TV screen to display words of hymns and responses. If you have difficulty seeing this screen, please ask somebody for a large-print folder. The hymns are in the correct order and there is a bookmark to help you keep your place.
