When I came to this church in 2009, I brought with me a love of the countryside and a determination to keep fit. I soon found a bunch of people who also liked these things and we started going out for a ride on Saturday mornings at 7am, leaving from the church car-park.
Eight years later, we still leave at 7am. The group has changed, we have our own cycle top now and a logo, Sawston Rollers. If you feel like coming out for a 20 mile spin on a Saturday morning, turn up at the church car-park, before 7am, introduce yourself and you’ll be welcome. We average somewhere around 14-15 mile per hour over the couple of hours we ride. Many of the group need to get back by about 9am for their families, so we usually don’t go much over 25 miles, and sometimes do less. There are no charges. The only thing we do insist on is that helmets are worn.
